Rights of a Member in CIPA

Participation in Party Activities: Every member has the right to participate in the activities of the party, including attending meetings and contributing to party forums.

Voting and Elections: Members have the right to vote in party elections and to be eligible for election to any party office or organ, provided they meet the specific qualifications for those positions.

Inclusivity and Non-Discrimination: Members from special interest groups, including women, youth, and persons with disabilities, have the right to equal access to opportunities and resources within the party.

Information and Transparency: Members have the right to access information regarding party operations, including inspecting party records at the head office or county offices during working hours.

Freedom of Expression: Every member is entitled to the freedom of expression and the right to advocate for their political opinions within the party’s pluralistic discourse.

Due Process in Disputes: Members have the right to a fair hearing through the Internal Dispute Resolution Mechanism (IDRM), which must adhere to the rules of natural justice and provide written decisions.

Accountability: Members have the right to demand accountability from the party leadership and to participate in the oversight of party resources and policy implementation.
